2013-14 Keith Kirkdorfer Memorial Scholarship Recipients

Cory Dolan
Cory plans to attend Southwestern Michigan College to study automotive technology and then transfer to Ferris State University to major in Heavy Equipment Technology.  Cory has been a member of the EHS Jazz Band as well as the LEOs and Education Talent Search.  He is employed at Repossession House Cleanouts, cleaning out homes that have been repossessed.

John Gaunder
John is enrolled at Southwestern Michigan College in a general studies curriculum.  He plans to transfer to Western Michigan University to pursue a degree in accounting.  John was involved in SADD and a member of the National Honor Society, played junior varsity football and varsity golf.  He has been a Boy Scout for many years, achieving Eagle Scout status.  John has been employed at ICE Athletic Center the past spring and summer.

Megan Halgren
Megan plans to attend Baker College in Muskegan to pursue a degree in human services.  She plans to intern in as many related fields as possible to find out which area would best fit her career goals.   Megan is Miss Edwardsburg and is very involved in the activities of the program.  During high school she was president of the LEOs her senior year.  She also was a member of the National Honor Society and SADD.   Last summer Megan worked as a camp counselor at Camp Vertical Extreme in Rockfort, Il. teaching third graders verses and leading them in activities.

Brandon Parsons
Brandon is enrolled at Southwestern Michigan College pursuing an associate degree in science.  He will then transfer to a four year university to focus on his goal of becoming a physical therapist.  Brandon was a member of the varsity cross-country team for four years, the wrestling team for 2 years, and was a four-year scholar athlete.  He was a member of SADD, LEOs and the National Honor Society.  He has volunteered at the local museum’s plant sale for four years as well as for the Special Olympics.  He is employed this summer at United Parcel Service.

Haylie Stevenson
Haylie is enrolled at Western Michigan University in the Speech Pathology and Audiology program with a career goal to return to Southwestern Michigan as a teacher in this area.  Haylie has been involved in many activities during high school including varsity soccer, varsity cheerleading, SADD, Educational Talent Search, LEO’s, mentoring, National Honor Society, and powerlifting.  Outside of school Haylie has been involved in her church group and with 4-H.  She has also done child-care and worked on Withers Tomato Farm.
